Every little effort counts when it comes to saving the environment. Today everyone everywhere knows what it means to go green and people everywhere are stepping up to do their part in saving the earth. People across the country are recycling cans, bottles and glass and using recycled paper products to save the earth and its resources. Just as we can recycle many of the products we use in everyday living, we can recycle many parts of used cars. Cars that sit in landfills for extended periods of time are a threat to the environment and in particular the car battery that sits and leaks in to our water and land. With many non-profit organizations using car donation as a means to fund their important programs and services, when you donate a car you can help more than one cause by looking for a charity that uses green disposal of the donated auto.

A non-profit that is working for the environment as well as the people it serves is an ideal choice when you are ready to donate a car. Car donation programs have sprung up across the country and there are advertisements everywhere asking for people to donate a car. When a non profit teams up with an environmentally friendly salvage yard to handle their car donations, the car donation is recycled by selling the steel and any other parts that can be reused.
